Planning an event with "The Stillwater Retreat" - Here are some things to consider:

1. "The Stillwater Retreat" is a ministry. We have fun and so do our audiences. But our purpose is to serve the Lord. Nothing is so rewarding to us as helping people find a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Many of our songs contain life-changing messages, but we also share and give personal witness to the way Jesus Christ changed our lives. In secular venues we lead into our message with secular songs, but in churches and Christian organizations, where we need no lead in, we sing songs with a messages and worship music. Our repertoire has everything from classical to contemporary. Our sound is mostly acoustic.

2. We are based in Federal Way, Washington. To travel distances for a performance, it is more practical to make it a part of a tour to spread the expenses between several venues. Any help you can provide us in organizing a tour would be appreciated. But we will travel to you even if that in not possible.

3. We use our own sound system, which has enough power for audiences of over a thousand people. For larger meetings we can send a feed to house sound. In smaller venues we have the capability of generating quadraphonic (surround) sound. We prefer to be able to set up a half to a full day in advance of our performance. We at least like to have several hours to rest and prepare ourselves before we go on. We will need advance information about the facility where we will be singing so that we can make proper preparations..

4. Please let us know what your expectations are. We have experience doing concerts, rallies, men's and women's meetings, youth meetings, business men's fellowships, nursing home concerts, parties, revival meetings, evangelistic crusades, coffeehouses, dinner meetings, etc. We perform in worship services of many denominations. We have opened in concert for other bands and performers. We have also done secular concerts where we bring a very gentle witness. Not only has our ministry spanned many denominations, but it has spanned many different cultural venues including, Hispanic, east Indian, and Philippino; just to name a few. We have two desires:  (1) to serve the Lord and (2) to meet your needs.

5. It would help us know if your are planning a worship event or an evangelistic event. This would influence our selection of music. Do you want the emphasis on blessing and inspiring the people? Or winning the lost to Christ? Will your event be for your church or organization alone? Or will you be cooperating with others in your vicinity? Will the event be held at your site? Or will you be renting a nearby auditorium or hall where the un-churched will feel less inhibited to come to?

6. "The Stillwater Retreat" is not a tax-exempt organization. It is organized under the laws of the State of Washington as a sole proprietorship: Richard Pomeroy and Terry Pomeroy doing business as (dba) "The Stillwater Retreat". All the members of the group have careers, so events do not need to show a profit. We prefer, however, to have our expenses met. We may be reimbursed in the form of an honorarium. If you take up an offering, your tax exempt organization must receive the offering and give us a check in order to make the donations tax deductible.

7. With enough lead time we can provide printed advertising materials. We can provide posters, bulletin covers, press releases and postcards.
